Nepal Development Society is a non-governmental organization focusing on research, innovation, and development. It has three offices located in Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Kaski district. It is the leading NGO from Nepal for conducting and publishing scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals. It has the largest non-communicable disease cohort. The organization coordinates the largest blood pressure campaign in Nepal. NeDS is rapidly growing and expanding both in terms of quality and quantity. The organization is inviting applications from qualified Nepali candidates for the following positions:

Position: Physician

Number: 1

Duty Station: NeDS Field Office, Pokhara, Kaski 

Duration: 15 months

Report to: CEO 

Major Job Responsibilities: 

The physician is responsible for providing training to both community-based and facility-based community health workers and their supervisors for prevention, control, and treatment of hypertension. S/he will also contribute to developing the training materials for community health workers.  The physician will provide intense supervision to the health workers of six health facilities located in the Rupa Rural Municipality. The supervision will be both in-person meetings and phone consultations. S/he will also support other projects on an ad hoc basis.  

Minimum Qualification: MBBS or equivalent degree with an NMC registration certificate.  Prior experience of working at primary health care level will be an added advantage. The position requires extensive travel within the Rupa Rural Municipality, Kaski. 

Position:  Monitoring and Documentation Officer

Number: 1

Duration: 15 months

Duty Station: NeDS Field Office, Pokhara, Kaski

Report to: CEO

Major Job Responsibilities: 

This is a research-focused position with overall responsibility of data collection, entry, and preliminary analysis. The M & D Officer will contribute to the development of monitoring tools for the MUTU project. The primary responsibility is ensuring the data quality using different quality check measures such as double entry, field visit, and cross-verification. S/he is also responsible for storing the data and make them available upon the request to the study team. S/he will train and supervise data enumerators. S/he will also support other projects on an ad hoc basis.

Minimum Qualification: MPH with one year experience or BPH with three years of experience in monitoring and evaluation.  

Position: Field Supervisor

Number: 1

Duration: 12 months

Duty Station: Biruwa Rural Municipality, Syangja

Minimum Qualification: Certificate level in health sciences with one year experience

Job Responsibilities: 

Field supervisor will contribute to supervision and monitoring the field activities. S/he responsible for providing direct control to community health workers and provide training to Female Community Health Volunteers. 

Position: Data Enumerator

Number: Few

Duty Station: Rupa Rural Municipality or Biruwa Rural Municipality

Duration: 3-4 months

Minimum Qualification: Certificate level in health science with first-hand knowledge of primary data collection

Major Job Responsibility: To conduct a baseline survey of the MUTU project.
