The Co-Design workshop of Changunarayan Municipality was held at 30th March 2025. Co-design in HRIDAYA project actively involved people at every level of the community. From policy makers and local leaders, health facility in-charges and health workers, female community health volunteers (FCHVs) to people living with hypertension and diabetes, co-designing focused on creating a solution with the people of the community based on their lived experiences.
This workshop brought together majority of the stakeholders/individuals of Changunarayan Municipality for decision making in developing interventional strategies of NCDs, specifically Hypertension and Diabetes.
Honorable Provincial Health Minister Kiran Thapa Magar graced the workshop with his presence and acknowledged the efforts of Changunarayan Municipality in raising awareness about non-communicable diseases (NCDs) like hypertension and diabetes. He emphasized the urgent need for accurate ward-level data to ensure effective medicine distribution and called for better coordination among federal, provincial, and local levels to avoid duplication. He advocated for community-level health screenings and mobilization of health workers and FCHVs. He stressed that NCDs now account for about 70% of diseases and highlighted the importance of early screening to prevent severe outcomes like stroke. He also mentioned the recent HPV vaccination campaign and the need for road safety awareness across Bagmati Province.
