Job Summary: Nepal Development Society (NeDS) is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support the Surakshya Project. The position involves field-based data collection on Occupational Health disease along with heat related illnesses, among construction workers ensuring accuracy, reliability, and ethical compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to Nepal Development Society and Nepal Health Research Council ethical standards.
- Participate in training and collect data using tablet/mobile-based tools.
- Record measurements accurately and maintain detailed field notes.
- Ensure data quality, safety, and timely submission.
- Coordinate with research participants (Construction Workers, Contractors and Associations).
- Obtain informed consent and maintain professionalism in all interactions.
- Regularly report progress and challenges to the Field Officer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in health or social sciences), Intermediate in Nursing, Health Assistants, Lab Technician.
- Prior experience in research data collection; knowledge of tablet/mobile data collection preferred (not mandatory).
- Two-wheeler with a valid license preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with Construction Worker, Contractors, Associations, stakeholders, and study participants.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and reporting skills.
