NeDS in collaboration with Monash university is undertaking a five- year research project targeting three municipalities: Changuranayan, Manohara and Pokhara municipality in Nepal. Co-Designing a Multi-level Intervention for Improving Continuum of Care for Non-Communicable Diseases in Three Diverse Cities in Nepal. Heart’s Intervention Design Targeting Younger Adults & Ageing Population (HRIDAYA) is a multi-level intervention which aims at improving diagnosis, treatment and long-term care for people living with hypertension or diabetes. We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic candidates for the following position

Position: Project Officer

Location: MadhyaNepal Municipality, Lamjung

Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension

Role and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and liaise with local municipalities, primary health care providers and community health workers for design and implementation of the planned activities
  • Develop strategic plan and work packages for the design and implementation of the planned activities
  • Identify and coordinate with the stakeholders in the municipality and support in the establishment of the technical advisory committee
  • Support in the establishment of the consumer advisory committee in the municipality
  • Undertake regular meetings and documentation of the technical and consumer advisory committee meetings
  • Undertake system assessment and data analysis from the municipality to identify people living with hypertension and diabetes
  • Support research activities and data management
  • Work closely with the primary health care providers and development of capacity building activities
  • Pre-testing of the tools and conducting semi-structured interviews with stakeholders
  • Monitoring, support and capacity building of research assistant in data collection and data management

Key Selection Criteria  

Minimum Bachelors in Public Health or relevant discipline. Masters in Public Health preferred.

At least two years of experience of working in public health sector

Excellent data management skills

Fluent in both English and Nepali Language

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Local candidates will be given priority
