Dr. Sweta Koirala is a dedicated medical doctor with extensive clinical experience gained through years of practice in hospitals across Nepal. Following the completion of her Ph.D. at Nagasaki University, Japan, she transitioned into a distinguished career in public health research. Her work focuses on identifying the root causes of prevalent health challenges and translating evidence-based findings into actionable community programs.
At the Nepal Development Society, Dr. Koirala channels her passion for community service into initiatives that address core determinants of health disparities. She firmly believes that empowering today’s informed and educated youth is essential for driving meaningful change across cultural, medical, and ecological domains. Through mentorship and collaborative projects, she actively engages young leaders to become catalysts for sustainable societal progress.
Her ultimate vision is to establish a robust, equitable healthcare system in Nepal that is truly affordable, reachable, and accessible to all segments of the population, particularly underserved and remote communities. By bridging clinical expertise, rigorous research, and grassroots implementation, Dr. Koirala continues to make significant contributions in health projects of Nepal Development Society–all geared toward achieving healthy communities and improving quality of life throughout Nepal.
